Ingredients
400 g. butter, without salt (no margarine),
room temperature
1 can sweetened condensed milk (410 g.)
4 eggs, separate yolks and whites
4 Tsp. “Nevazucar” (powdered sugar)
3 Tsp. Cocoa powder
200 g. dark chocolate (I use semi sweet)
(Savoy or La India - good quality)
2 package of “Maria” cookies
Walnuts or Pecans (chopped, just a little)
½ cup of milk to moisten the cookies
Preparation
Beat butter with the condensed milk until
is very creamy; add yolks, one by one, powdered sugar, and Cocoa powder.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave, at
medium heat (or in the stove with very little milk). Carefully not to over
cook or gets tough. Add chocolate to the previous mix and keep beating.
On separate bowl, beat egg whites until
peaks form and add to the mix without beating, just folding.
On buttered glass pan (13 ½ x 9
in.), spread a layer of the chocolate mix, then a layer of cookies, (dipping
each one in milk or chocolate mix before), a few chopped nuts, more chocolate
mix, cookies, nuts, and so on. The last layer is chocolate mix.
For decoration sprinkle some nuts on the
top.
Refrigerate for 4 hours at least or overnight.
Take out of refrigerator half an hour before serve.
